I think yin and yang are somewhat misinterpreted by us westerners, and it is.. biased then; the light and the dark, the good and the bad, the man and the woman. In the east, they are not as tanatophobic as us, and darkness is but another side of life.

But as a unity form fine.

I agree with this completely, it looks much nicer and perfectly symmetrical in the example you've shown. We just have to straighten out that kinked male portion in :both: for one here.

I once saw a gender symbol that had a question mark off of the circle instead of a male/female/androgyne element. Gender unknown maybe.
